
The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China on July 26, 2022. This agreement established the Indonesia-China Joint Research and Development Center on Vaccine and Genomics, marking a significant step in strengthening collaboration in the fields of medical research and biotechnology. Following this MoU, a Joint Action Plan (JAP) was developed to enhance human resource capacity, particularly in vaccines and genomics.
As part of the JAP’s implementation and to reinforce pharmaceutical resilience and pandemic preparedness, the Directorate General of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices will host a Symposium on Indonesia-China Joint Research and Development on Vaccine and Genomics. This symposium aims to facilitate knowledge exchange and deepen cooperation between the two nations in advancing medical innovation.
On August 28, 2024, the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center, in collaboration with Indonesia Special Economic Zone, United In Diversity, the Ministry of Health, and Kura Kura Bali, organized an event titled “The Inauguration of the Indonesia-China Joint Research Center.” This event marked a milestone in the ongoing partnership, reinforcing commitments to scientific collaboration and technological advancement in healthcare.
