To promote international education and global leadership opportunities, the Tsinghua Southeast Asia Center (TSEA) hosted an information session for the Schwarzman Scholars program on March 24, 2025. The session featured speakers Hans Sebastian, Schwarzman Scholars Alumni, and Thomas Tomezsko, Selection and Outreach Officer of Schwarzman Scholars. Organized in collaboration with Schwarzman College, United in Diversity Foundation, and the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN), the event welcomed 28 participants, including final-year undergraduate students and faculty members from universities across Bali. The session aimed to raise awareness about the fully funded master’s scholarship offered at Tsinghua University, encouraging qualified candidates to consider applying.
The session featured presentations from Thomas Tomezko, Selection and Outreach Officer for Schwarzman Scholars, and Hans Sebastian, an alumnus of the program. Together, they provided a comprehensive overview of the program’s vision, eligibility requirements, and the application process. Attendees gained valuable insight into the academic and leadership development opportunities available through the scholarship, as well as the benefits of joining a global network of future leaders committed to cross-cultural understanding and public service.
Concluding with an engaging networking session, the event created a space for meaningful dialogue between prospective applicants and the speakers. Participants left with a clearer understanding of the program and a sense of inspiration about pursuing global academic and leadership opportunities. The session also reinforced the growing relationship between TSEA, Schwarzman Scholars, and local academic institutions, laying the groundwork for future collaboration and increased participation from Southeast Asia.
