This event took place on December 13, 2024, with the aim of aligning Indonesia’s higher education, science, and technology sectors with the national development priorities of the Prabowo-Gibran administration (2024–2029). Leaders from Indonesia’s higher education institutions were invited to engage in high-level discussions on these priorities and explore collaborative pathways toward building a resilient and innovative future for Indonesia, benefiting both humanity and the climate.
The event was structured into two main sessions: morning and afternoon. The morning session opened with keynote addresses that set the strategic focus, followed by a panel discussion featuring representatives from the government, academia, the private sector, and civil society. This discussion examined the policy landscape and its implications for higher education. Throughout the day, interactive dialogues and facilitated discussions encouraged participants to exchange best practices, explore collaborative strategies, and identify opportunities for advancing Indonesia’s educational priorities. The afternoon session included presentations showcasing initiatives aligned with national goals, culminating in a reflective commitment session. During this session, university leaders united around shared objectives, leading to a signing ceremony that symbolized collective commitment.
Attended by 138 participants from 100 institutions, the event was highly insightful, inspiring stakeholders in the education sector to actively contribute to advancing the quality of education in Indonesia in line with the National Development Priority Agenda.
Distinguished guests included the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Ir. Satryo Soemantri Brodjonegoro; Vice Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Stella Christie; Vice Chair of the People’s Consultative Assembly of the Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Lestari Moerdijat; and Abcandra Muhammad Akbar Supratman.
